Presidential Candidates Spoke To A Kill-the-Gays Group

Most people reading this would not attend a rally sponsored by a man who formed an organization based in part on killing gay people. But, in the this time of weird conservative politics, some Republican candidates attended enthusiastically. They were Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal and Ted Cruz.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of Generations With Vision, talk show host Kevin Swanson, said, “Yes, Leviticus 20:13 calls for the death penalty for homosexuals. Yes in Romans Chapter 1, Verse 32, the Apostle Paul does say homosexuals are worth of death–his words not mine. And, I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ…I am willing to go to jail for it.”

Swanson went on to say he is not advocating to public officials just now that homosexuals should receive the death penalty. They first should be given an opportunity to repent. Then, I assume, they should be put to death.

About 1700 people attended the event in a hotel in Des Moines. They paid just under $80 apiece to attend. According to a video Swanson’s remarks about death to homosexuals received cheers from the audience.

The three candidates were asked afterwards if they approved the organization’s position of the killing gays. None of the three would criticize what the organization stands for. They, instead, launched into their standard rhetoric about religious freedom and persecution of Christians. Those positions are especially ironic when Generations With Vision advocated killing people who do not agree with them.

It would be an understatement to say we are living in strange times.

This is an absurd topic, basically trash.

The only “kill-the-gays” group I know of are the segment of gays with risky behavior (sin), spreading AIDS.

    1. Henry 8:52 The only “kill-the-gays” group I know of are the segment of gays with risky behavior (sin), spreading AIDS

Heterosexuals are the biggest sources of AIDS today. Of course, all sex is sin so there is that sin problem again.

This kill-the-gays group is Bible based.

      1. Henry

Jon: “Heterosexuals are the biggest sources of AIDS today.”

I see. The heterosexuals give the homosexuals AIDS. Ok.

        1. Henry 10:40 Aids spreads in several ways, as you well know. Included are unprotected sex and dirty drug needles. Clean needle exchanges are needed for drug addicts. These are becoming more common thanks to people in the field who have a good understanding of drug use.

          1. Henry

Then we should buy every drug user a three phase, 440 volt autoclave like Castro bought everyone a rice cooker. That would save many lives, but it may skew the AIDS statistic more unfavorably for the homosexuals by cleaning up the dirty needle problem. Jon, we could save the world.

However, with all this goodness, I really only know of one “kill-the-gays” group, that is the gays group themselves.

          2. Henry 7:58 Christians should be happy they have a unifying book, the Bible, which advocates killing homosexuals and many others. It even brags about killing all the sinners except Noah and his family. Those who add up the number of innocent people God killed say it is about 2 million.

The rest of us have no such unifying book. We’re just left to figure our own religious and ethical standards for ourselves. We’ve figured out that killing gays and the other 2 million is just wrong.

          3. Henry

Jon: “We’ve figured out that killing gays and the other 2 million is just wrong.”

Then the gays should stop killing one another. You would think as you say they would adhere to some ethical standard to not kill each other with AIDS.

Concerning the OT civil laws, they were not significantly different from some other secular civil laws. In fact, homosexuality was illegal in most societies. You do have some exception. The Greek and Roman homosexuals eventually progressed to working over their society’s boys.

Wouldn’t you rather talk about the safer discussion of dirty needles and autoclaves? We could still save lives, either discussion. Also, with a little education, we could prevent this plague of homosexuality from repeating into what seems its normal societal endgame of pedastry Maybe you could commission a social science study on this. Do you know any social scientists?

P.S. The Bison are currently smoking hot. I am trying to conjure up some motivation to do some outside work. It was supposed to get up to the mid forties. The mercury is at 27. The weatherman missed the mark.

          5. Henry 7:55 Now that you mention it, I didn’t see them praying. That is ok. However the Spirit moves them

Or, maybe they said, “We’re not going to be like those Pharisees, the Bison.”

          6. Henry

You may have a point there. (Matthew 6:5) I am erring on the side of placing the best construction on it. If spontaneous and a matter of their regular practice as moved by the Spirit, no harm. If done so “they could be seen”, I guess they have received their reward.

Well there is a first time for everything, but I really don’t believe this is it.

Jon you dyslexic tendency is letting you down again, Mr. Swanson’s group is actually called generations with vision, presumably they have a vision of a world to their liking. The power they seem to wish for themselves is that which they deride in Islam.

I think your misprint is accurate – generations with visions: visions, delusions call them what you will, that they would impose their visions on the world is truly frightening.
